COMPARE PMX SKILLS WITH PREVIOUS PMs

The willingness of the Prime Minister of Malaysia (PMX) to be interviewed by CNN's Christian Amanpour is enough to make Malaysians proud (who can understand why we are proud of such a situation) considering that the journalist in question is not a typical person who is willing to interview YAB Saudara Anwar Ibrahim. Although the questions- the question asked by Christiian was very 'burdening' to PMX but with the experience he had he was able to fend off anything that came his way, especially when questions were raised involving the United States' relationship with China and the effects that may arise as a result of the 'shift' of USA and China. The question that Amanpour wants to explore is our (Malaysia) attitude towards the USA and China. It means where Malaysia will favor either the USA or China. The answer given by PMX is very suitable to reflect the sanity and depth of PMX's study in dealing with Malaysia's foreign policy.

This article does not review PMX's opinions and views on the issue raised by Amanpour. Of course, it takes a wide space to talk about such things. Suffice it to say that there are not many world leaders who are 'willing' to be interviewed by this person on CNN unless they are about the authority of a leader. PMX got his attention of course. Well done!

But what I will touch on is PMX's confidence in Malaysia's ability to become a developed country in the near future. He said, 'Malaysia has huge potential to rise again as a dynamic economy, said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. He also said Malaysia has the necessary resources and a qualified workforce, in addition to having policies such as the Madani Economy, the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) to support this goal.

It has already been said by him in a dialogue session and dinner with a group of Malaysians who are in America together with the students who are there. In addition to that, Anwar also called for the elimination of bureaucratic red tape, and simplifying business affairs. Maybe that's a shortcut way to advance the country's economy. Maybe. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim asked the authorities to eliminate red tape and improve business practices as more and more companies expand their operations to Malaysia or increase their existing investments.

The Prime Minister who is also the Minister of Finance said he was disappointed because in some cases, the decision-making process is still slow and late and this has an impact on companies planning to invest in Malaysia." Some companies who met us said there are still delays in giving approval. I was very disappointed when I heard that because we have given clear instructions and we cannot delay," he said at a press conference at the end of his four-day visit to New York in conjunction with attending the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) 78"If you delay six months, other countries will give approval in two months. We will miss opportunities because of that attitude… but to be fair, we have done our best here because the staff is working around the clock to make sure everything goes smoothly ( meeting with investors,)" he said.

The Prime Minister said instructions have been given to relevant ministers and agencies to ensure that all applications are decided quickly, including approval for investment or issuance of visas.

Meanwhile, Anwar said, the world's largest aerospace company, Boeing, which already has a wing manufacturing plant in Malaysia, has announced its intention to expand its investment by manufacturing wings and parts for all types of aircraft. "This is a very big decision for Malaysia. With the decision this, almost all wings with parts will be produced in Malaysia," he said.

He said several other major United States (US) companies such as ConocoPhillips, AWS, Google, Airbnb, Amazon, Amazon Web Services, and Kimberly-Clark will also expand their operations or express their desire to expand their wings to Malaysia. In addition, during his visit to here, Anwar also announced that two major US electrical and electronics companies are ready to expand their operations to Malaysia.

One of them, Alton Industry Ltd Group (Alton Group) - a global supplier of consumer and commercial tools, appliances and floor care - will invest at least RM500 million to open a manufacturing and research and development (R&D) facility in Johor. According to him, this success is the result of hard work by various ministries and agencies, especially the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Malaysian Investment Development Board (MIDA) to attract investment.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described his four-day visit to the United States as successful because he succeeded in highlighting Malaysia's stance on global issues and raising the country's profile on the international stage. According to STAR 22/9/23 PMX has managed to bring in more than RM132 Billion in investment. This is proof that PMX is a leader for all of us.

Concerned Malaysians will surely pray that this ongoing effort will bring benefits that will enable Malaysia to become a developed country in the world 'returning' the greatness we once enjoyed in the 1990s when he was Deputy Prime Minister.
