PMX - MAKING A START TO BE RESPECTED BY WORLD COMMUNITY
PMX said,
"With a sense of humility, I represent the voice of Malaysia taking advantage of the stage of the general assembly by proposing the concept of CIVIL Malaysia to be adopted by the international community in facing the 'democracy deficit' dilemma that is plaguing the world. Like it or not, all countries regardless of whether they are major powers , the group of developing countries should swallow the fact about the role of shaping a better world for tomorrow.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the fact that members of his own party are free to question the government's policies and actions is clear evidence that his administration has not abandoned its promised reform agenda.
Malaysia had to be careful in determining who is friend and foe especially in maintaining relations between America and China. This is where the wisdom of a leader lies. "Malaysia is caught in the rivalry between China and the US'
Anwar Ibrahim told me "they cannot insist that we take sides... China's an important neighbor... US has traditionally been a longtime friend." Malaysia has to "maintain excellent relations with both." Christiana Amanpour
Malaysia is a dwarf country and is just starting to find a way to strengthen its position in the eyes of the world. Being present and giving such a loud speech may be the first step in that direction. "has just brought our voice to the big United Nations audiences. Some say that "Malaysia is roaring back to the world stage! So proud!".
What is quite sad is that there are dissenting voices in our own country who do not appreciate what PMX is doing in order to put Malaysia on the world stage. It seems as if they are trying to 'submerge' whatever is done by PMX and is ridiculed in their own country. Although the world community gave recognition and appreciation (as a result of the speech at the United Nations), it was seen that there was a group of people who were indifferent to the actions taken by PMX. Thankfully, PMX is making a start towards Malaysia being respected by the world community.
Are Malaysians not proud and proud when PMX was given the honor of reading the Friday sermon and being the first foreign leader to deliver the sermon at the New York Mosque. That is no small feat. That is a great recognition of the confidence of the Muslim community between the nations towards PMX's stature as the leader of an Islamic country.
Anwar's advice to world leaders in particular is, "All countries no matter how big or small, rich or poor, strong or weak, have a common responsibility towards creating a better world for tomorrow." Such suggestions are usually only voiced by great world leaders, but in this case, a leader from our country Malaysia named Anwar Ibrahim insisted and dared to express something to the world community. A situation that rarely happens to leaders from our country. No such an action was voiced by the PM before. Can't hear...
PMX took about 16 minutes to speak and summarize his words and suggestions for world leaders to hear about Malaysia's desire to exist and predict the values contained in a civil government.
Among them:
Stronger nations are increasingly casting the UN aside for smaller platforms, while they pay lip services to the imperative of multilateralism, the emergence of mini-lateralism, effectively lead to fragmented configurations of power
📕 Major powers rivalry will lead to a world where the masses are unrepresented, where the few rule over the many and the many resent the few
📕 Condemn unequivocally the Russian invasion of Ukraine - impact of the war in Ukraine has caused food prices to skyrocket, leading to shortages and hunger
📕 Calls on Myanmar to immediately implement ASEAN FIve Point Consensus
📕 Climate change - Malaysia is seeing an increase of the adverse impacts of climate change, urging developed countries to fulfil their commitment of mobilizing $100 billion a year to support climate projects and programs in developing countries
📕 Islamophobia - Malaysia is concerned over the emergence of "new form of racism" in the form of xenophobia, negative profiling and stereotyping of Muslim.
At the end of his speech he urged the world community that "We must unite our faiths in common cause to promote understanding and goodwill among our peoples, and strengthen peace and harmony among nations. "What we need is trust and the conviction to make the world a better place , the will to work together on a platform of consensus and solidarity," he insisted.
Hope fully such wishes are granted by God..
